One year after the surprising Ars Militaria (check with Dagaz Music review here) the German act Triarii returns again by the hands of (once again) Eternal Soul with a new masterpiece.

If Ars Mititaria surprised me then by the way how Christian Erdmann was able to bring some fresh air to the more bombastic neoclassic scene, Pi?ce H?roique surprises me again by the way he was able to keep the high quality of the compositions.

For about one hour we are taken on a journey through the most overpowering and martial moments of human history, always with exceptional clean sounds ― I think that this is one of the more noticeable differences between Triarii and projects like Arditi, Karjalan Siisit or even HERR (here with reference to Michiel Spap? early recordings).

From the more bombastic tracks like ?On Wings Of Steel? or ?Heaven & Hell? to the more neoclassic/neomedieval tunes like ?Heldentod? and ?Victoria?, the high quality of the samples and the careful compositions are constant and the final piece is outstanding.

Can?t finish this short review without mentioning the track ?Roses 4 Rome? which is a delicious collaboration with Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio? Tomas Pettersson ? Tomas acoustic loops and voice with Christian?s orchestral samples and percussion. PERFECT! This track makes me wish for future collaborations between these two masters of the more apocalyptic sonorities.

Se Ars Militaria me surpreendeu ent?o pela maneira como Christian Erdmann conseguiu instilar algum ar fresco na mais bomb?stica cena neocl?ssica, Pi?ce H?roique surpreende-me mais uma vez, agora pela maneira como conseguiu manter a alta qualidade das composi??es.

Durante cerca de uma hora somos levados numa viagem pelos momentos mais marciais e excessivos da hist?ria da humanidade, sempre com sons de uma excepcional limpidez ― penso que esta ? uma das mais not?veis diferen?as entre os Triarii e projectos como Arditi, Karjalan Siisit ou mesmo HERR (e estou a referir-me ?s primeiras grava??es de Michiel Spap?).

PERFEITO! Esta faixa leva-me a desejar futuras colabora??es entre estes dois mestres das mais apocal?pticas sonoridades.
