«When I was lodged in Rosslyn Castle at the beginning of the research, I went to the chapel and asked if there was any connection with the Templars. The custodian was afraid of speaking too much, as the Templars had been condemned as heretics and their Grand-Master burnt in a pyre, and the Rosslyn Chapel belongs now to the Church of Scotland».
Here begins an extremely valuable work of investigation in which Andre Sinclair (interesting surname), former military and historian, starting from the «book» written on the stones of Rosslyn Chapel, leads us to the depths of the history of the St. Clair (or Sinclair) family, as the last trustees of a Tradition coming from times as far-away as the Temple of Salomon.
Their connection with the last Templars, who took refuge in Scotland after the persecution they suffered in Europe at the hands of the Catholic Church, gives them the opportunity to accede to the knowledge of the most profound esoteric current of the Middle-East.
The Author approaches the subject of the Templars from the aspect of their direct influence on the Scottish Freemasonry and later on the Freemasonry in general, starting with the Temple of Salomon and its construction by Hiram, the architect, thus allowing the reader a glance at what is the history of Freemasonry.
Later on a new connection emerges, when people also coming from the South, this time Venetian navigators who use the Orkney Islands as a springboard (where one Sinclair is a Count), sail westwards and discover the American continent, where they leave very clear traces of their presence, and one century before the official discovery of this continent by Christopher Columbus.
Finally, Sinclair gives a description of the trip by the Venetian Zeno which, based on a period document, is «very nicely» long, enabling the reader to get an excellent view of how the trip went on.
«The Sword and the Grail« is an excellent work where the reader can, once again, discover that the Official History still has large gaps, still being, as it is, pledged to a Church which insists in incurring in the same mistakes as in the past. This same Church that cannot yet accept the fact that America was discovered by someone connected with the Knights of the Temple, who after all were heretics and whom it sent to the pyre.

Começa aqui um valiosíssimo trabalho de investigação em que Andrew Sinclair (apelido curioso), ex-militar e historiador, partindo do “livro” escrito na pedra da Capela de Rosslyn, nos faz mergulhar na história dos St. Clair (ou Sinclair) como sendo os últimos depositários de uma Tradição vinda de tempos tão longínquos como o Templo de Salomão.
A sua ligação com os últimos Templários, refugiados na Escócia após a perseguição movida aos mesmos na Europa pela Igreja Católica, leva-os ao conhecimento da mais profunda corrente esotérica do Médio Oriente.
O autor aborda os Templários na sua influência directa sobre a Maçonaria Escocesa e posteriormente sobre a Maçonaria em geral, partindo do Templo de Salomão e da sua construção pelo arquitecto Hiram, proporcionando ao leitor uma pequena “espreitadela” sobre aquilo que é a história da Maçonaria.
Mais tarde eis que surge nova ligação com alguém vindo também do Sul, agora navegadores venezianos que, utilizando como trampolim as Órcades (onde um Sinclair é Conde), partem em direcção a Oeste descobrindo o continente americano e deixando lá fortes vestígios da sua passagem, isto um século antes da descoberta oficial deste continente por Cristóvão Colombo.
Para terminar, Sinclair apresenta uma descrição da viagem do veneziano Zeno que, baseada em documento da época, é “agradavelmente” extensa, proporcionando ao leitor uma excelente visão do que foi essa viagem.
Este “The Sword and The Grail” é um excelente trabalho onde o leitor poderá, mais uma vez, descobrir que a História Oficial continua a apresentar fortes lacunas em virtude de ainda se encontrar hipotecada a uma Igreja que continua a insistir nos erros do passado. Esta ainda não pode aceitar o facto de que a América foi descoberta por alguém que estava ligado aos Cavaleiros do Templo que, afinal, foram hereges e por ela mesma queimados na fogueira.
